To celebrate Nickelodeon’s birthday, I reached out to a cake baker in NYC and commissioned a cake. The cake featured the newly rebranded splat logo and was made using our style guide-specific colors.
I staged the cake on an electric turntable, dressed and lit the set, and directed the art team to toss balloons they had blown, and place candles they had procured.
In the edit, I made sure to emphasize the music and sound effects. I added pops and sizzles, made sure the song looped perfectly, and sent all the audio through a low-pass filter when the camera entered the portal.
I’m proud of how this piece turned out, and to toot my own horn a little, I think it’s a great example of my coordination skills and attention to detail.
