When tasked with recreating a SpongeBob scene in real life, I decided to go the horror route and used a decrepit costume a producer had rescued from Craigslist’s free section. When I couldn’t fit into the costume, I isolated my arms with editing masks. A worn VHS tape effect helped sell the creepy effect.
